This error is appearing on two out of three of our wondows XP pro PC's, correction, I had defrag.exe running on the other PC, cancelled it "ctrl+c". Tried to restart it again from cmd prompt. This one now has the same error. I have another 3 XP pc's here, that I have not checked yet. The error seems to have nothing to do with the disk eg: All disks return the same error. I originally thought it was the disk (did a chkdsk /f), restarted pc, tried re-doing defrag.exe, it worked, but not the next time I tried it. I also did a chkdsk /f on a thunb drive, then tried to defrag that drive on all of the affected pc's. They all return the same error, so it doesn't seem to be anything to do with the drive or volume.BTW, the defragmentor in "system tools" works fine on all these PC's.I will keep testing different scenarios and update this info if I find out anything interesting.I searched this error message on Microsoft, but no mention of it in the knowledge base. I did find others with this problem via "google" lots of suggestions out there, but did not find any "this is definitely fixed - here is the solution".1 person needs an answerI do too

Click Start, All programs and then Accessories. Click Command Prompt.b. In the Command Prompt window type “sfc /scannow” (without quotes) and then press Enter.c.
